Catchers Mask
The Catchers Mask/Helmet is one of the most important pieces of equipment for a baseball or softball catcher. The primary use for the catcher mask/helmet is to provide protection to the most important area in a person…the skull. It is very important for a catcher to protect themselves from passed balls and errant bats so finding a catchers mask that provides superior comfort and protection is vital. Catchers Helmets come in many different styles including the regular 2 piece style and the newer hockey style mask. Many leagues have made it mandatory to use the hockey styled mask, so please check with your respective league before purchasing.
To measure the size of head gear, either take a piece of measuring tape and measure the circumference of your head just above your ears, or take the size obtained from a fitted baseball cap. Match the resulting length (in inces) to the nearest model available from the purchasing location. Since head gear comes in many different shapes and styles, the measurement may differ between goalie style masks and regular catchers head gear.
